Banning Teachers Go “Three for Three” In School Board Election

Banning teachers celebrate the victories of their three endorsed school board candidates- Leslie Sattler, Mayra Angiano, and Laura Troutman.

After last year’s divisive Banning Teachers Strike, Banning Teachers Association (BTA) members wanted to ensure a better resolution to differences in policy and practice between educators and Banning Unified School District. Having previously endorsed two candidates in earlier election cycles, BTA determined to endorse three additional candidates to ensure an opportunity for every Banning student to succeed.

Election results affirmed the hard work of educators, who held town hall meetings and phone banked for all three candidates. Every BTA-endorsed candidate was victorious and will serve alongside BTA’s two other endorsed candidates.

BTA President Anthony Garcia was pleased with the election results; “Having now endorsed and supported every member of the Banning School Board, we are ready to make sure our schools will receive the resources they need for student success.”
